The Challenge
Lemon Perfect needed to stand out in a crowded market dominated by legacy beverage giants. As a zero sugar organic lemon water, they had a clean value proposition but needed to dial up their vibrant, humorous, and high-energy personality to truly disrupt the category.

My Role
I was brought on as a freelance Art Director to lead the creative strategy for a major market push. I managed the design and copywriting for a high-impact campaign that needed to feel just as punchy on a massive billboard in Atlanta as it did on a dump bin in a grocery store aisle.

Design Decisions

  • To challenge legacy competitors like Coca-Cola in their own backyard, I opted for a less is more approach. By pairing clean, minimalist visuals with punchy, confident headlines, I made sure the brand commanded attention without cluttering the message.

  • I developed headlines like “Lemon + water. A real classic.” and “Nice to meet you. We’re perfect” to create immediate brand recall. I kept the copy as straightforward and refreshing as the product itself to match the clean aesthetic.

  • I designed in-store displays that carried that same humorous, premium tone, ensuring the transition from a billboard to the grocery aisle felt like a unified experience.


The Outcome
The creative strategy successfully positioned Lemon Perfect as a bold, clean alternative to legacy giants. The campaign was formally approved by the Head of Marketing and the CEO/Founder for a national rollout. Key results include:

  • Developed a high-impact creative approach that successfully challenged the dominance of established beverage competitors.

  • Delivered a visual and verbal identity that proved its efficacy across diverse mediums, ranging from massive OOH billboards to tactical in-store retail displays.

  • Successfully met all objectives set in the creative brief, resulting in an approved campaign architecture that is currently slated for deployment in stores and outdoor advertising markets.
